2010 SeasonThis was our theme passage for the year. We asked the Lord to, “teach us to number our days…” and give us as a team a clearer understanding of the precious gift of each minute He grants us to serve Him as a BBCS cheerleader. In His sufficient and great provision, we saw a “three-peat” at state. Although that was a goal for which we strived, God gave us so many nuggets of spiritual growth throughout the year that this accomplishment was just the cherry on the top. From new tumbling abilities to new cheer routines, we saw that our God was in every detail and truly establishing the work of each girl’s hands. He answered our prayer in so many ways.
This season also brought the final year to have Jan as a cheerleader. Words cannot adequately convey the growth that I have seen in this young lady. Her leadership was selfless and genuine. She brought consistency and heart to every practice and set a great example of submission to me as a leader. |
“Let the beauty of our God be upon us:
and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.” Ps. 90:17 |
I want to also say a special thank you to Brit for being such a great help to me this year. She came whenever she could and gave such excellent council to the team on mechanics as well as adding creativity to our state routine. It was such a blessing to have her at my side with such a heart to truly encourage me and improve the team.
To the team as a whole, I can’t remember a year in which there was so little drama and such sweet fellowship. You were such a blessing to be with and such a joy to coach. At the state competition when you began to cheer-on other squads and encourage them in their routines, you were winners to me. The comments I have received from your Christ-like act are a credit to the work of our God in your hearts. A third trophy will live in a case in the hallway for years to come, but the sweet growth in your walk with your God will last for eternity. May we not only be remembered as the “three-peats” but as a team whose goal was to, ”...number our days” using each minute to encourage others to walk in Him. - Christine Rossiter

Varsity Cheerleaders are Champs Again
BBCS Cheerleaders tug on their hairbows in a victory pose after being named state champions for yet another year.
The girls competed in the Georgia Christian Athletic Association (GCAA) Cheerleading Competition in Kennesaw over the Valentines weekend. The annual event drew Christian schools from around Georgia. Under the direction of Coach Christine Rossiter, the girls performed challenging stunts and cheers including one incorporating a tug on their matching hair bows. This is the third year in a row the team has won first place at the competition.

EagletsBBCS Eaglet Cheerleaders debuted recently for the school's basketball games.
Kindergarten through sixth grade girls attended a day of cheerleading camp in December and then roused the crowd with sideline and half-time cheers during the recent games. "The Eaglet program adds enthusiasm to the school spirit and BBCS cheerleading program," stated Christine Rossiter, the school's cheerleading coach. The experienced cheerleaders were able to share their talent with girls who may be interested in the activity in the future, she added. Also pictured are several sister-sets who participated in the Cheerleading Camp. |
