2010-2011 Season Junior Varsity Girls Basketball
As we entered the 2010-11 season, our JV team was looking forward to what was in store. Five girls were back from the year before, and we had added two 7th graders. We began our season with two non-conference victories and then headed directly into our conference games. After losses to Killian Hill and Shiloh Hills, we bounced back with key victories against Peoples and King’s Way. As we entered the second half of our conference season, our hopes were high to make the playoffs. We lost to Killian Hill but then came back again with a road win against then undefeated Shiloh Hills. After falling short against King’s Way, our team finished the season with a win at Peoples, narrowly missing the playoffs. Though our girls were disappointed, they recognized the improvements that they had made throughout the year. |

I appreciate the veteran leadership of our sophomores, Victoria and Sarah. They, along with the 7th graders, and Kaylee, Averie, and Bethany, all brought an attitude of determination and hard work to every practice and game. I am so thankful for each one of them. I pray that God will continue to use them as they develop their talents for Him.
Varsity Girls Basketball
A lot of uncertainty surrounded our team as we began our 2010-11 varsity season. Several girls were new to the varsity team or new to basketball in general. Although the girls weren’t sure what to expect, we tipped off our season with a win in our annual tournament against Grace. In the tournament championship game, we narrowly lost to a solid Greater Gwinnett Christian team. Beginning our conference schedule, we earned two victories over Covenant. Although we struggled to get into the win column in our other conference games, we played well and showed a lot of heart, especially against Peoples and King’s Way. Our team also picked up another win against New Creations at our Christmas Classic. As we look ahead to next year, I believe a solid foundation has been set for our young team.
I appreciate the five girls who played both varsity and JV. Sarah, Victoria, Kaylee, Averie, and Jasmine all put extra time in at practice and games. I also appreciate Brittany’s hard work and her enthusiastic spirit. Our upperclassmen (Jenna, Minji, Alex, and Elisa) provided the leadership that the team needed. All the girls were a joy to coach. I appreciate each of them having a teachable spirit. We look forward to a great season next year. - Lauren Larson
Junior Varsity Boys Basketball
I want to thank each of the boys for their hard work this season. This year’s team was filled with a lot of new and young players. I really enjoyed the enthusiasm and energy that this group of boys displayed. We are at a rebuilding time with the boy’s basketball program, and these boys are the future. My speech to the boys this year was to stick together, keep getting better, and let’s really work hard this summer. We have already had one week of spring practice and have dates set for another two weeks in the summer along with open gym each week. I have encouraged the boys to take part in all of these opportunities as we work to become a better team. Thank you boys for the effort you put forth this year, and I look forward to what we can do in the future.

I want to thank the varsity boys for their hard work and the effort they put forth this season. I would have to say it was the effort that the guys put forth that really stood out to me this year along with conducting themselves with a great attitude. We graduate three seniors this year: CJ, Tim and Graham. It has been a joy to coach each of these guys, and I will miss them next year. I also want to thank Mr. King for his help at practice and assisting me at games. - Jon Estes
