A Word About Christian Education
“No words express the driving force behind Christian education as emphatically as the phrase, for the children. The Christian school movement exists for the children. Teachers teach, parents sacrifice, and churches build classrooms for the children. The Christian school’s purpose is to guide children to academic maturity and to seek to conform their minds to the image of Christ. The children of today will be the leaders of tomorrow. Sharpening these young minds and building their testimonies to influence the world for Christ is the heartbeat of Christian education. The values taught and modeled in the Christian school shine forth as a ray of light in this modern world. An honest examination of Biblical truth and of the issues facing our society will lead to a clear understanding of the necessity of Christian education and why it is truly for the children.”

“What a privilege that God has called us and equipped us to be God-loving, Word-filled, ministry-minded disciple-makers – ‘Labourers together’ with Him! We are humbled by the responsibility and cry out with Paul, ‘Who is sufficient for these things?’ How can we ‘serve God acceptably’? How can we give Him the ‘reasonable service’ of which He is worthy?... As always, God gives us clear teaching - sound doctrine - that when ‘rightly divid[ed]’ will allow each of us to stand before Him at the Judgment Seat as ‘a workman that needeth not to be ashamed’ (II Timothy 2:15)... Our Part: We are to be ‘faithful farmers,’ planting and watering as God’s laws of nature dictate and as God’s grace enables us - practicing God-dependent self-denial. God’s Part: He is the sovereign Lord of the harvest, giving the increase as He sees fit.”

“Our number one responsibility, as the molders and shapers of the next generation, is to inspire children to conform to the image of Jesus Christ, whom to know is life eternal. The purpose of Christian school education is to present to our children, as clearly as possible, the truth about God, about life and living, about our world and everything in it and to present the Word of God as the authoritative source upon which to build a life that has purpose and meaning. In a nutshell, the philosophy of Christian school education calls for an educational process that puts the Bible at the center and asks the student and the teacher to evaluate all they see in the world through the eyes of God because God is truth. All must conform to Him or it is not truth. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” John 14:6. In true Christian education, students learn to use the Bible to evaluate all of life. The Bible is life - it is the living Word - it is above every other book.”
